
An exhibition shedding light on Hong Kong's cinematic worlds crafted by generations of filmmakers will open at the Hong Kong Film Archive on Friday.
The exhibition is in honor of the 75th anniversary of Sil-Metropole Organisation, a distinctive contributor to Hong Kong cinema, accoridng to the organizers.
It traces its origins to the 1950s with the establishment of Great Wall Movie Enterprises Ltd, Feng Huang Motion Picture Co, and Sun Luen Film Co. These entities merged in 1982 to form Sil-Metropole, which has been involved in producing over 500 films across diverse genres, significantly impacting the region's film industry.
Running through July 5, 2026, the exhibition features over a hundred pieces of promotional material from Sil-Metropole's collection. The display includes film stills, posters, brochures, and special publications.
