
A record high of 380 Hong Kong enterprises from various industries are participating in the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) to promote quality Hong Kong products and services.
Under the theme "A Brilliant New Chapter of Connectivity between the Mainland and the World", the six-day expo began at the National Exhibition and Convention Center in Shanghai on Wednesday.
The Hong Kong exhibition area at the China Pavilion showcases the city’s dual advantages of having national and global opportunities under the "one country, two systems" principle and the top international rankings achieved across various fields and the significant impetus from increasing development momentum and improving livelihoods continuously, the government said in a statement.

Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu, who is leading a delegation of the special administrative region government to the expo, attended the CIIE opening ceremony and the Hongqiao International Economic Forum (Hongqiao Forum) on Wednesday morning together with Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development Algernon Yau Ying-wah.
The CE also accompanied Premier Li Qiang in touring the Hong Kong exhibition area.

Accompanied by Yau and Chairman of the Hong Kong Trade Development Council Professor Frederick Ma Si-hang, Lee visited the Hong Kong Food Pavilion and the Hong Kong Service Pavilion at the Enterprise and Business Exhibition to support Hong Kong enterprises.

Total 54 Hong Kong enterprises are showcasing quality products and services covering food, innovation and technology, healthcare technology, professional services, logistics and information technologies at the two pavilions, demonstrating Hong Kong's brand advantages and competitiveness.
Meanwhile, the Invest Hong Kong's booth at the Hong Kong Service Pavilion highlights Hong Kong's competitive advantages, while the exhibition area of the Hong Kong Tourism Board showcases the latest tourism features of Hong Kong.
