HONG KONG – The legendary fire dragon dance will illuminate Hong Kong's Mid-Autumn Festival from October 5-7.
In Causeway Bay, the Tai Hang Fire Dragon Dance will feature a nightly parade of a 67-meter-long dragon, animated by 300 performers, from 7:30 pm.
Pre-festival LED “Little Fire Dragon” shows and photo installations began on Tuesday at Victoria Park.
Simultaneously, Pok Fu Lam Village will host its own celebration. A shorter fire dragon will parade within the village on Oct 5. Another 30-meter dragon will proceed to Tin Hau Temple and Waterfall Bay on Oct 6. The same day, a separate dragon will be on display for the public to stick incense sticks into and take photos.
Boosting global digital industry
The Asia Pacific segment of "Straight to Wuzhen" Global Internet Competition is set to be launched in Hong Kong on Oct 10.
Held ahead of November’s World Internet Conference Wuzhen Summit, the competition this year features six major tracks: artificial intelligence, intelligent connected mobility, intelligent digital healthcare, intelligent manufacturing, smart terminal, and open source projects.
The judging panel brings together leading figures from venture capital, industry executives, and prominent scholars from around the world.
Macao basketball blitz
The NBA China Games 2025 will kick off in Macao this month with the Brooklyn Nets facing the Phoenix Suns. Catch preseason games at 8 pm on Oct 10 and at 7 pm Oct 12 at The Venetian Arena.
The action continues with NBA Fan Day on Oct 11 at 4 pm, headlined by legend Shaquille O’Neal and local performers Keung To and MC Jin Au-yeung. The event features player skills challenges, a slam dunk contest, and special performances.
From Oct 8, the first-ever NBA House will offer a five-day fan festival with live game streams, legend meet-and-greets, and photo ops with the Larry O’Brien Trophy.
