MACAO - The nation’s prosperity has bolstered the Macao Special Administrative Region’s confidence in its development and progress, and the city will ride on the motherland’s development momentum to continuously seek new opportunities for growth, Macao Chief Executive Sam Hou-fai said at a National Day reception on Wednesday morning.

The event was held at the Complex of Commerce and Trade Co-operation Platform for China and Portuguese-speaking Countries. About 1,320 social dignitaries, including senior officials from the central and Macao SAR governments, along with representatives of diverse sectors, gathered to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China.

Sam noted that in the last 76 years, the motherland has achieved remarkable feats, especially its rapid economic development and enduring social stability. These accomplishments have captured global attention and have been the bedrock of confidence for Macao’s advancement and prosperity.
