Aito, a Chinese high-end new energy vehicle (NEV) brand which has introduced the all-new Middle East-variants of its models at the IAA Mobility 2025 auto show in Munich, embraces plans to expand its international presence and make the brand global.

The Chongqing-based automaker, owned by the Seres Group, showcased regional variants of its Aito 9, Aito 7, and Aito 5 vehicles at the event, which is being held through Sept 14 from Sept 8.

Leon He, president of Seres Auto, said Aito is committed to becoming a “glocal” brand that combines global expertise with local adaptation.

“At IAA Mobility 2025, AITO is unveiling our truly globalized product lineup and setting a new strategic milestone in our globalization journey,” said He.

From the Aito brand’s establishment in December 2021 to the end of August this year, the cumulative sales of its four models in China have exceeded 770,000 units.

Among them, the flagship SUV Aito 9 model launched at the end of 2023, has sold more than 230,000 units. It has been the sales champion of the 500,000 yuan ($70,212)-level luxury car segment in China for 17 consecutive months, according to the company.

The global Aito models will be first available in the Middle East, featuring a smart cockpit with trilingual interaction in Chinese, English and Arabic, and have been modified for local digital ecosystems.

The models have also undergone testing in desert environments and have received market-entry certification for sales in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

Meanwhile, Aito is completing validation tests of its overseas intelligent driving assistance features to bring the intelligent mobility experience to Middle East customers.

In China, by the end of August, Aito’s total intelligent assisted driving distance exceeded 3.45 billion kilometers by serving 621,000 users.

As part of its expansion strategy, Aito plans to establish an operational subsidiary in the UAE to gradually launch its full model lineup. It will also develop local supply chain capabilities through a central warehouse in Dubai, which will enable weekly-order delivery speeds and instant aftersales parts support.

At the ongoing auto show at the Munich Exhibition Center, Aito will showcase many of its core technologies, including the overseas debut of the Seres 5th-Gen Super Range-Extender System. The system can deliver high power and high efficiency in a small, lightweight design with quiet operation.
