Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu will lead a 360-member delegation to Beijing to attend the commemorative activities of the 80th anniversary of victory in the Chinese People's War of Resistance Against Japanese Aggression and the World Anti-Fascist War.
The delegation includes principal government officials, representatives from the Judiciary, the Legislative Council, District Councils, patriots who participated in the War of Resistance, veterans and their descendants, and representatives from various sectors.
The commemorative activities, which will be held on Wednesday, include a rally and military parade in the morning and a cultural gala in the evening. Lee will also attend a reception at noon.

He will depart for Beijing on Tuesday and return on Thursday. While he is away, Chief Secretary for Administration Eric Chan Kwok-ki will be the acting chief executive. Deputy Financial Secretary Michael Wong Wai-lun and Deputy Secretary for Justice Cheung Kwok-kwan will be the acting financial secretary and the acting secretary for justice, respectively.
