KYIV – At least six people were killed and 52 injured in Russian missile and drone strikes on the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, early Thursday, according to the local authorities.
There was a six-year-old boy among the victims, Tymur Tkachenko, head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, wrote on Telegram.

The attacks hit 27 locations in the city and destroyed part of a 9-story apartment building, he said.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky wrote on Telegram that Russia launched more than 300 drones and eight missiles at Ukraine on Thursday, with most of them targeting Kyiv.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko said another apartment building in the western Solomianskyi district was severely damaged.
Rescue operations at the sites of the strikes were going on, and the number of victims might rise, according to Tkachenko.
