2 dead, 10 missing after torrential rain triggers flash floods in Laiwu

Two were reported dead and 10 missing amid heavy rainfall in Laiwu in Jinan, Shandong province, according to CCTV news.

Between midnight and 5:00 am on Tuesday, the district experienced heavy rainfall, with the maximum precipitation reaching 364 mm. Triggered by the downpour, flash floods struck near Shiwuzi and Zhujiayu villages, damaging 19 homes.

Rescue operations are underway to locate the missing individuals, and post-disaster relief and recovery efforts are being carried out in an orderly manner.
