A sudden flash flood hit areas near the China-Nepal border's Gyirong Port around 5 am Tuesday, leaving multiple people missing and collapsing the China-Nepal Friendship Bridge, which disrupted access to the border.
Local authorities in Xizang's Shigatse city responded swiftly, providing the pilgrims with supplies and organizing an alternative exit route. The local foreign affairs department, along with other agencies, coordinated the evacuation, ensuring a safe and orderly departure for the pilgrims.
