BEIJING - China's National Immigration Administration (NIA) announced Thursday a decisive blow against drug trafficking, reporting the seizure of 2.42 tonnes of narcotics during operations across the country's border areas and ports in the first half of this year.

As of June 25, immigration authorities had cracked 205 drug-related cases at borders and ports, leading to 262 arrests, according to NIA figures.

The seizures included 38 major cases involving drug hauls exceeding 10 kilograms each.
