Bank of China (Hong Kong), The Hong Kong Palace Museum’s strategic partner, won the Award for Arts Sponsorship at the 19th Hong Kong Arts Development Awards.
Kenneth Fok Kai-kong, chairman of the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, presented the award to Stephen Chan, deputy chief executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong), and Dr Daisy Wang, deputy director of Hong Kong Palace Museum during a presentation ceremony on June 10 at the Hong Kong City Hall.
Organized by the Hong Kong Arts Development Council, the Hong Kong Arts Development Awards recognizes distinguished arts practitioners and organizations that have made significant contributions to the development of the arts in Hong Kong.
BOCHK was recognized for its efforts in promoting Chinese culture and fostering social inclusion. As a strategic partner of HKPM since 2022, BOCHK has joined hands with HKPM in presenting blockbuster exhibitions, performances, and educational activities to engage diverse communities.

“BOCHK is honored to receive the Award for Arts Sponsorship. From the artefact-rich Gazing at Sanxingdui exhibition to the inclusive participation for disadvantaged groups, and the HKPM Showtime Carnival providing artists with a platform to showcase their talents and gain employment opportunities, BOCHK gives full support and connects communities through arts,” said Stephen Chan, deputy chief executive of Bank of China (Hong Kong) Ltd.
“In the future, BOCHK will continue to collaborate with various sectors of the society to launch more cultural and artistic activities. These efforts aim to deepen Hong Kong citizens’—especially young people’s—understanding and enthusiasm for Chinese history and culture, while contributing to the promotion of cultural and arts exchanges between China and the rest of the world, telling compelling stories of the Chinese mainland and Hong Kong together,” he added.
Louis Ng, museum director of HKPM, noted that BOCHK has always been dedicated to promoting the development of Chinese arts and culture.
“Thanks to BOCHK’s comprehensive support, the museum has been able to organize high-quality special exhibitions and innovative performing arts programs, fulfilling its commitment to showcasing the richness of traditional Chinese culture. Building on our shared goal, HKPM looks forward to continuing our close long-term partnership with BOCHK to strengthen our efforts to foster cultural exchange between China and global audiences,” said Ng.

In addition, Angela Chan, an awardee of the "Award for Young Artist" this year, is one of the outstanding young orchestra members of the Musicus Soloists Hong Kong sponsored by BOCHK.
Since 2017, BOCHK has been supporting the young talent training programs of various local orchestras, including Musicus Society, Hong Kong Chinese Orchestra, and Hong Kong String Orchestra.
