HONG KONG - A spokesperson for the Commissioner's Office of the Chinese Foreign Ministry in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region on Saturday expressed strong dissatisfaction with the so-called "Hong Kong sanction bill" proposed once again by individual senators of the US Congress.

In response to the so-called bill proposed recently which threatened to sanction officials of the central government and the HKSAR government, and judicial and prosecutorial personnel, the spokesperson said that judicial and prosecutorial personnel in the HKSAR handle cases independently and impartially in accordance with the law, exercising their statutory powers and following legal procedures, and their work cannot be interfered with or smeared.

The spokesperson stressed that under the protection of the National Security Law in Hong Kong, social order in the HKSAR has been restored, the rule of law upheld, justice served, and the lawful rights and interests of citizens better safeguarded.

The spokesperson pointed out that certain US politicians are openly trampling on legal justice, attempting to threaten and intimidate officials of the central government, the HKSAR government, and judicial and prosecutorial personnel through sanctions. This constitutes a gross interference in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal matters, seriously violating the principles of international law and the basic norms of international relations. It is a blatant act of coercion and bullying.

The spokesperson urged certain US politicians to immediately abandon their political maneuvering of using legislation as a tool, and to cease interfering in Hong Kong affairs and China's internal affairs in any form, otherwise, they will inevitably pay a heavy price.
