3 Iranians charged in British anti-terror probe

LONDON - Three Iranian men have been charged with offenses following an investigation by British counter-terror forces, police said on Saturday.

Under the National Security Act, the trio have been charged with engaging in conduct to allegedly assist the intelligence service of a foreign country, which the police say is Iran, between Aug 14, 2024 and Feb 16, 2025.

All the men, Mostafa Sepahvand, 39, Farhad Javadi Manesh, 44, and Shapoor Qalehali Khani Noori, 55, are due to appear at the Westminster Magistrates' Court on Saturday.

Sepahvand has also been charged with "surveillance, reconnaissance and open-source research" with the intention of "committing serious violence against a person in the UK," according to a police statement.

Meanwhile, Manesh and Noori have also been charged with engaging in conduct with the intention that acts, namely, serious violence against a person in Britain, would be committed by others.
