Canadian PM Carney, Ukrainian president Zelensky agree to meet at G7 summit

OTTAWA - Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Wednesday agreed to meet at the G7 Summit in Canada's Kananaskis, Alberta, in June.

According to a readout issued by the prime minister's office, Carney spoke with Zelensky after the former Bank of Canada governor secured victory in Monday's parliamentary elections.

Carney underscored Canada's commitment to supporting Ukraine in achieving lasting peace and security. The two leaders agreed that a durable peace can only be achieved with Ukraine at the table, said the readout.
