BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.19 percent to 3,426.13 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.19 percent lower at 10,957.82 points.
The combined turnover of these two indices stood at about 1.57 trillion yuan (about 219 billion U.S. dollars), down from 1.79 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares in the dairy, environmental protection and robotics sectors saw significant gains, while those related to securities, family doctor services, and beauty care suffered major losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, lost 0.52 percent to close at 2,215.13 points.
