Exhibition in Shanghai showcases Titian's paintings

Titian's Flora, one of the most iconic paintings by the Italian Renaissance master, is among 49 paintings showcased in the new exhibition at Bund One Art Museum in Shanghai.

Opening on Thursday, Titian's Flora: Venetian Painting from the Uffizi Galleries features 8 original paintings by Titian, alongside representative works by other Venetian school masters such as Giorgione, Tintoretto, and Veronese. Some of the exhibits are on tour away from the Uffizi Galleries for the first time, according to Xie Dingwei, founding director of Bund One Art Museum. The exhibition will go on at the Shanghai museum till July 28.

This is the third exhibition created under the agreement signed in 2021 between Tix-Media and the Uffizi Galleries. According to the agreement, the two parties will host 10 exhibitions at the Bund One Art Museum within five years.

Curator of the exhibition, Anna Bisceglia from the Uffizi Galleries designed the exhibition in six chapters, showing different periods in the long life of Titian, as well as the artists that gathered around him, to reflect the great impact of Titian in the Venice region and other parts of Italy.
