MADRID – Paris Saint Germain's Spanish goalkeeper Sergio Rico remains in a serious condition with a head trauma following an accident with a horse on Sunday.

Rico was airlifted to the Virgin de Rocio Hospital in Seville "in a serious condition" early on Sunday morning after falling off a horse and then being kicked in the head by the animal.

The hospital issued a new communique on Rico on Tuesday explaining that he remains in the hospital's intensive care unit "without significant changes" to his condition, adding that the 29-year-old is under sedation and "stable within a serious condition."

Both PSG and Sevilla (who Rico used to play for) have given the keeper their support. PSG have cancelled their end of season dinner out of respect for him, while Sevilla President Jose Castro commented that the club would try and win Wednesday's Europa League final against Roma so they could dedicate the trophy to him.
