Beijing expresses concerns on US' China policies on trade

WASHINGTON – China expressed deep concern about the US' China policies on economy and trade, and semiconductors, as well as issues concerning export control and outbound investments review on Thursday, when the Chinese commerce minister met his US counterpart in Washington.

Commerce Minister Wang Wentao held talks with US Commerce Secretary Gina Raimondo on the sidelines of the 2023 APEC Ministers Responsible for Trade Meeting in the United States, which runs from Thursday to Friday.

The two sides had frank, professional and constructive exchanges of views on China-US economic and trade relations and issues of mutual concern, the ministry said in news release published on its website.

Both sides agreed to establish communication channels to maintain and strengthen exchanges on specific economic and trade concerns and cooperation initiatives, the ministry said.
