BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Friday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.64 percent to 3,265.65 points.
The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.25 percent higher at 11,634.22 points.
The combined turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 1.07 trillion yuan ($157.18 billion), up from 1.01 trillion yuan on the previous trading day.
Shares related to ChatGPT and cloud computing led the gains, while stocks in sectors such as precious metals and traditional Chinese medicine suffered the biggest losses.
The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 0.38 percent to close at 2,370.38 points.
