CBA: Guangdong beats Ningbo, Liaoning smashes Jiangsu

BEIJING - The Guangdong Southern Tigers beat Ningbo Rockets 118-100, while Liaoning Flying Leopards defeated the Jiangsu Dragons 105-77 in the Chinese Basketball Association league in Beijing on Tuesday.

Guangdong took a 17-point lead on 63-46 at the break before Ningbo cut the deficit to 9 points at the end of the third quarter with a 10-1 run. Guangdong surged with a 12-3 run to open the final period and never looked back.

Zhang Mingchi led Guangdong with 22 points, followed by 18 points from Du Runwang. Xu Jie added 17 points. Marko Todorovic had a team-high 25 points for Ningbo. Brandon Taylor finished with 22 points. Ning Hongyu contributed 18 points.

Liaoning took the lead on 50-46 in the first half before the defending champion expanded the advantage to 20 points on 97-77 with a 12-2 sprint in the fourth quarter and put game beyond reach.

Kyle Fogg and Guo Ailun had 15 points for Liaoning apiece. Zhang Zhenlin and Li Xiaoxu added 14 points each. Antonio Blakeney led Jiangsu with 28 points and 10 rebounds. Zhao Shuaizhou added 14 points.
