Russian strategic bombers patrol Sea of Japan

MOSCOW — Two Russian Tu-95MS long-range strategic bombers performed a flight over the neutral waters of the Sea of Japan, said the Russian Defense Ministry on Wednesday.

The flight lasted over seven hours and the strategic bombers were escorted by Su-30SM and Su-35S fighter jets of Russia's Eastern Military District, the ministry said in a statement.

The patrol mission was carried out in strict accordance with international rules for the use of airspace, it added.
