Macao: Central govt officials brief residents on Party Congress

A central government delegation held three seminars in the Macao Special Administrative Region on Thursday and Friday to firm up the local community’s understanding of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.

Participants in the seminars included Macao SAR government officials, representatives of the Macao-based central government organizations and Chinese mainland-funded enterprises, as well as social leaders from other sectors.

Shen Chunyao, a member of the delegation who chairs the Legislative Affairs Commission of the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, expounded to attendees the significance of the milestone Party Congress and the opportunities it presents

Another delegation member, Xie Fuzhan, vice-chairman of the Committee on Economic Affairs of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, delivered keynote speeches on China’s path to modernization.

Macao Chief Executive Ho Iat-seng, Director of the Liaison Office of the Central People's Government in the Macao SAR Zheng Xincong, and Vice Chairman of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference National Committee Ho Hau-wah also attended the events.

During the seminars, Ho said the report delivered at the Party Congress offered significant guidelines and great support to Macao’s development, tremendously boosting Macao residents’ confidence in the city’s future.
