Social groups and local residents in Hong Kong took part in various activities on Sunday and watched the live broadcast of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China.
The congress opened at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing on Sunday morning, and is due to conclude on Oct 22. Xi Jinping, on behalf of the 19th CPC Central Committee, delivered a report at the opening session.

Some Hong Kong residents said they paid special attention to Xi’s remarks about Hong Kong. Others said they hoped to learn about the country’s latest developments by watching the twice-in-a decade event.
Local groups and communities organizing the activities included Hong Kong’s largest polity party, the Democratic Alliance for the Betterment and Progress of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Fishermen Consortium and Pak Tin Community in Kowloon District.
