Tan Long scores as Changchun edges Shenzhen in CSL

BEIJING – Chinese veteran striker Tan Long inspired Changchun Yatai to a 1-0 win over Shenzhen FC in the Chinese Super League on Friday.

The victory lifted Changchun to 10th in the league standings with 25 points, while Shenzhen was in 13th place on 19 points

Changchun broke the deadlock in the fourth minute, when Wang Jinxian sent a left-side cross before Tan beat Shenzhen goalkeeper from close range.

Tan, 34, was substituted in the 43rd minute because of injury and doubtful for their next game. He has scored six goals in 17 games this season.

Changchun held on to the final whistle with Shenzhen struggling in finding its rhythm.
