LONDON - England came from 2-0 down to draw 3-3 with Germany in their UEFA Nations League at London's Wembley Stadium on Monday.

England even had hopes of a dramatic comeback win as Harry Kane's penalty put them 3-2 ahead in the 83rd minute, but goalkeeper Nick Pope's mistake later cost the hosts the victory.

After a goalless first half, Germany made the breakthrough as Harry Maguire brought down Jamal Musiala to concede a penalty which Ilkay Gundogan converted, giving the visitors a 1-0 lead seven minutes after half-time.

German striker Kai Havertz, who plays for Premier League side Chelsea, then curled in an impressive effort into the far corner in the 67th minute.

England showed resilience and were sharp in counterattacks. Manchester United defender Luke Shaw pulled one back for the hosts in the 72nd minute and Chelsea midfielder Mason Mount stroke the ball home three minutes later.

England took the lead in the 83rd minute with Kane's penalty after Nico Schlotterbeck had fouled Jude Bellingham.
