China, Indonesia vow to further dovetail development strategies

JAKARTA - China and Indonesia have vowed here to further dovetail development strategies and deepen pragmatic cooperation between the two sides.

The pledge came after Liu Jianchao, head of the International Department of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, held talks with the Indonesian president and officials.

During his visit to Indonesia from Aug 29 to Sept 1, Liu met separately with Indonesian President Joko Widodo, former president and chairwoman of the Indonesian Democratic Party of Struggle Megawati Soekarnoputri, Defense Minister and General Chairman of the Great Indonesia Movement Party Prabowo Subianto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the Golkar Party Airlangga Hartarto and Minister for Foreign Affairs Retno Marsudi.

The two sides agreed to implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, further dovetail the development strategies, deepen pragmatic cooperation and strengthen coordination and cooperation on international and regional affairs so as to forge a model of cooperation between large developing countries, better benefit the people of both countries, and jointly promote peace, stability, development and prosperity in the region and the world.
