The Hong Kong Education Bureau is distributing copies of President Xi Jinping’s July 1 local speech to help teachers in the city’s schools better understand its essence and the city’s constitutional order under “one country, two systems”.

The copies of President Xi 's speech also aim to deepen local teachers’ understanding of the development of the nation and the world, and help them comprehend the importance of Hong Kong’s integration into the overall national development, the Education Bureau said

The bureau announced the move on Monday, saying it was made in view of the significance of Xi’s speech, which he made during his inspection tour of the city to mark the city’s 25th anniversary of its return to the motherland.

The copies also aim to deepen local teachers’ understanding of the development of the nation and the world, and help them comprehend the importance of Hong Kong’s integration into the overall national development, the bureau said.
