BEIJING - Chinese stocks closed mixed on Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index down 0.02 percent, at 3,276.09 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 0.33 percent higher at 12,460.22 points.

Turnover of stocks covered by the two indices stood at 976.4 billion yuan ($144.8 billion), lower than that of the previous trading day.

Stocks related to lab-grown diamonds and power equipment were among the biggest gainers, while the digital currency as well as the kitchen and bathroom appliance sectors suffered losses.

The ChiNext Index, tracking China's Nasdaq-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.03 percent to close at 2,718.59 points.
