China beats Poland to win 6th match in women's VNL

SOFIA - China's women's volleyball team beat Poland 3-0 in its second match of Pool 6 of the 2022 FIVB Volleyball Nations League in Sofia on Thursday.

China smashed Poland 25-8 in the first set, and took the other two with 25-23 and 25-20, claiming its sixth victory in 10 matches since the 2022 FIVE Volleyball Nations League started

Li Yingying scored 15 points and Gong Xiangyu added 11 for China, while Martyna Czyrnianska and Olivia Rozanski had nine points apiece for Poland.

The victory lifted China to fifth place on the VNL standings in the preliminary phase on 20 points with two matches remaining.

China will face the Dominican Republic on Friday and South Korea on Sunday.

The women's VNL kicked off on May 31. The top seven teams and the hosts will contest the finals in Ankara, Turkey, from July 13-17.
