CSL: Wuhan crushes Hebei, Shanghai edges Guangzhou

DALIAN - Newly-promoted Wuhan Three Towns claimed a 5-0 victory over Hebei FC who suffered its sixth consecutive loss, while Shanghai Shenhua overcame Guangzhou FC 2-1 in the sixth round of the 2022 Chinese Super League on Sunday.

Wuhan took a quick lead in the third minute when Marcao rolled the ball into the net after collecting Davidson's pass from the midfield.

Five minutes before the end, Davidson's long-range volley sealed an overwhelming win for Wuhan, keeping the team top of the Chinese Super League table

Around 20 minutes later, Ademilson scored his first goal of the season after a corner to double the lead for Wuhan.

In the 35th minute, after Davidson's attempt was denied by Hebei's defense, Nicolae Stanciu smashed in a volley to make it 3-0 at half-time.

In the second half, Davidson made it 4-0 as he tucked away a penalty, awarded after Sang Feiyi was tripped by Hebei captain Ding Haifeng.

Five minutes before the end, Davidson's long-range volley sealed an overwhelming win for Wuhan, keeping the team top of the CSL table.

In the game between Shanghai and Guangzhou, Wang Haijian broke the deadlock with an easy tap-in in the 19th minute after Bi Jinhao failed to stop the ball. The game's second goal came in the 70th minute when Wang's cross found Cao Yunding, who slotted home.

Guangzhou pulled one back after Shenhua defender Li Yunqiu's mistake in the box, but it was too little, too late.

Also on Sunday, Chengdu Rongcheng and Shenzhen FC shared the spoils in a 2-2 draw.
