CSL: Shenzhen edge Chengdu, Meizhou draw with Tianjin

MEIZHOU, China - Shenzhen FC defeated Chengdu Rongcheng 2-0, while newly-promoted Meizhou Hakka drew with Tianjin Jinmen Tiger 1-1 in the 2022 Chinese Super League (CSL) on Saturday.

Shenzhen opened the scoring through Frank Acheampong in the 28th minute. The Ghanaian forward finished an easy tap-in assisted by Dai Weijun before scoring his second goal in the 58th minute to seal the victory for Shenzhen.

Elsewhere, Meizhou Hakka took an early lead in the 12th minute when Brazilian winger Rodrigo Henrique dribbled the ball into the penalty area and smashed home. But only 11 minutes later, Tianjin leveled the game with Dejan Radonjic's equalizer.

"I am super happy to score the first CSL goal in the club's history thanks to the help of my teammates. This was a very exciting game," Rodrigo said.

In other games on Saturday, Wuhan Yangtze River stunned Shanghai Port 1-0, Henan Songshan Longmen drew 2-2 with Dalian Pro, while Changchun Yatai cruised past Guangzhou City 4-1.
