HONG KONG - The Hong Kong government said it had detected one COVID-19 infection as it completed a compulsory testing exercise in a restricted area in Sham Shui Po on Tuesday.

The government made a restriction-testing declaration on Monday to cover Beacon Lodge where 400 people were tested for the virus.

The government said it had provided food packs for residents during the exercise, which ended at around 9:30 am Tuesday

The move was made after the government reviewed a basket of factors, including the viral load in sewage and the information of relevant positive cases.
