HONG KONG - The Hong Kong government detected 897 preliminary positive COVID-19 cases in restriction-testing declarations covering seven buildings in Kwai Chung, Kowloon City, Chai Wan and Kwun Tong.

The government made restriction-testing declarations on Monday for Sheung Ching House, Yuet Ching House and Mun Ching House of Kai Ching Estate in Kowloon City, where a total of 4,532 people were tested and 501 preliminary positive cases were identified.

A "restricted area" was also set up at Shek Hing House of Shek Lei (l) Estate in Kwai Chung, where 1,120 people took a virus test and 109 of them tested preliminarily positive. 

At Cheong Yee House and Yat Yee House of Yee Tsui Court in Chai Wan, 55 out of 1,013 people preliminarily tested positive.

At Tin Kei House of Shun Tin Estate in Kwun Tong, 1,080 people took a virus test. While 232 of them preliminarily tested positive, a total of 13 indeterminate cases were discovered.

The government added that it will follow up on the households which did not answer the door during the compulsory testing exercises.
