Employers of foreign domestic helpers and employment agencies may book a room through the hotel's online booking system starting from 9:30 am on Oct 25, the spokesman said.

The person making the reservation will be required to provide the helper's passport copy, valid employment visa and recognized vaccination record to verify his or her identity.

"The hotel will confirm with the persons making the reservation individually and arrange to complete the relevant procedures upon receipt of their bookings," according to the spokesman.

Foreign domestic helpers will also need to provide relevant documents for verification when they check into the facility.

The hotel will review the overall booking situation and adjust the number of rooms open for reservation each day.

The spokesman stressed that admission of foreign domestic helpers to Hong Kong should be resumed in a "gradual and orderly manner" as the global pandemic remains severe.

"The government will consider whether more designated quarantine facilities can be provided having regard to the global and local epidemic situation," the spokesman said.

The number of units at the Penny's Bay center was increased to 1,000 from 800 starting from Oct 22, the government said Saturday.

The designated hotel in Tsuen Wan has a total of 409 rooms.
