China sportswear gaint Anta sets up research center with Tsinghua

BEIJING - China's largest sportswear company Anta co-established the "Tsinghua University-ANTA Group Joint Research Center for Sports Fashion" with Tsinghua University here on Monday, voicing its aim of building a world-leading innovation platform for the industry.

To become a top international brand, you must acquire international technological innovation capabilities. The development of China's sports industry requires more independent innovations to meet the needs of the rapid development of the industry.

Anta, the world's third largest sportswear company by revenue, will cooperate with the renowned university in China over the next five years to promote the innovative application of new materials, new fabrics and new designs in the field of sportswear through the integration of technological research and market transformation.

The development of China's sports industry requires more independent innovations to meet the needs of the rapid development of the industry," said Ding Shizhong, chairman and CEO of Anta, who believes the collaboration will empower the Chinese sportswear industry and enhance the global vision of the Chinese brand.

As the official partner of the Beijing 2022 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Anta said the core scientific and technological innovations produced by the Joint Research Center will have the opportunity to be applied to the equipment of the Chinese national teams.

In addition, Tsinghua University and ANTA Group jointly launched the "Global Sportswear Design Award" on Monday, which will provide three million yuan (US$464 thousand) for young designers around the world to realize their creative dreams.
