On April 8, the NA adopted a resolution to elect Le Minh Khai and Le Van Thanh as new deputy prime ministers while 12 other Cabinet members, including the minister of national defense, the minister of foreign affairs, and the minister of finance were also elected.

In addition to personnel work, the NA comprehensively summarized the work in the 2016-2021 term of state agencies, Chairman of the NA Vuong Dinh Hue said at the closing meeting held in the Vietnamese capital Hanoi.

The parliament agreed that in the past term, despite difficulties and complicated fluctuations, state agencies have made important achievements and left outstanding marks in the process of building and developing the country, according to Hue.

The NA also pointed out the shortcomings in the operation of state agencies, with a resolution on the agencies' performance in the 2016-2021 tenure adopted, which put forward suggestions to improve their operational efficiency in the next term, Hue added.
