BAGHDAD - Two rockets landed in the heavily fortified Green Zone in the center of Iraq's capital Baghdad on Monday evening, the military said.

The two rockets did not cause casualties, the media office of the Iraqi Joint Operations Command said in a brief statement.

An Interior Ministry source told Xinhua that sirens were heard in the US embassy in the zone during the attack, adding the exact landing point of the rockets was not immediately known.

No group has so far claimed responsibility for the attack, but the military bases housing US troops across Iraq, as well as the US embassy in Baghdad, are frequent targets of mortar and rocket attacks.
