As the strategic partner of the third China International Import Expo from Nov 5 to 10 in Shanghai, Bank of China aims to promote global investment and product innovation while offering high-quality financial services to buyers and exhibitors during the event.

For organizations unable to attend the expo this year, BOC will provide online matchmaking services via a system independently developed by the bank that targets small and medium-sized enterprises. The Global SME Matchmaking System, used at the second CIIE, automatically identifies partners for users based on their needs and related information after they finish registration.

It can also share information about exhibiting companies and industries.

BOC will also provide investment-themed roadshows for local industrial parks and other institutions to further expand the influence of the CIIE during the COVID-19 era.

BOC plays an essential role in organizing the event and will host many important forums and activities.

One forum will discuss the construction of inclusive financial systems and digital development. Coorganized by BOC and the People's Bank of China, the event focuses on the application of innovative technologies, narrowing the gap for infrastructure and managing financial risks.

During the third CIIE, a project on intangible cultural heritage has become a platform for promoting traditional Chinese culture, and thus far attracted a large number of customers.

The total exhibition area of the project has reached 4,000 square meters.

To guarantee on-site payment for sales related to the project, BOC established a linkage guarantee team, covering every link from point-of-sale equipment to the acquiring system, and provides "one-to-one" services for each exhibitor.

BOC's comprehensive financial services comprise basic products, specialty products and exclusive products.

Basic products include consulting, account opening, financing and cash management, as well as on-site foreign currency exchange and language translation.

BOC provides specialty products for international settlements, inclusive finance and insurance. Its exclusive products include tailor-made services for cross-border matchmaking, foreign exchange, insurance and financing.

BOC has provided more than 40 ATMs, foreign currency exchange machines and smart machines at this year's expo. The China International Import Expo Bureau has made BOC a vital player in its operations, specifically through the bank's support for investment roadshows.

BOC joined hands with the CIIE to hold the first domestic investment roadshow in Chengdu last year, as well as other roadshows in cities including Changsha, Shangrao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Nanjing, Changchun, Yinchuan, Xining, Jinan, Hangzhou, Kunming, Chongqing, Nantong, Tianjin, Haikou, Taiyuan, Shenyang, Fuzhou and Beijing.

To date, BOC has participated in and supported all the 22 sessions for the second CIIE and every roadshow for the third CIIE.

BOC has also played a role in boosting overseas promotion, in cooperation with the China International Import Expo Bureau.

On Nov 25 last year, the New York branch of BOC supported a promotional conference for the third CIIE in the city. Earlier this year, BOC also supported CIIE roadshows in Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Cuba, and Costa Rica.

BOC's branches in Paris, Panama and Buenos Aires also provided on-site support for local roadshows in those cities.
