China, US agree to continue working on trade deal

Chinese Vice-Premier Liu He held a phone call with US trade officials on Tuesday morning, with both sides agreeing to continue to promote the implementation of the phase-one trade agreement.

Both sides agreed to strive to create a favorable condition for implementing the phase-one trade deal between the two countries, according to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce

According to a statement released by the Ministry of Commerce on Tuesday morning, Liu held a phone call with US Trade Representative Robert Lighthizer and US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin.

Both sides held constructive talks on cementing cooperation in macroeconomy and agreed to strive to create a favorable condition for implementing the phase-one trade deal between the two countries, according to the statement.

Liu is also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee and chief of the Chinese side of the China-US comprehensive economic dialogue.
