BEIJING - China on Thursday denounced the US suppression and containment of Chinese high-tech firms by abusing state power, calling the relevant moves "a typical act of bullying" aimed at maintaining its high-tech monopoly.

Wang said it is absurd and ridiculous the United States keeps talking about "clean networks" while it has stained itself with bad practices in cyber security, with well-known examples such as the Snowden case

The spokesman stressed many Chinese companies unilaterally sanctioned by the US are innocent, and their products and services are safe.

Wang made the remarks at a daily press briefing when commenting on US recent announcement to ban Chinese apps from the United States.
