HONG KONG - Returning officers received 18 nomination forms on the first day of nomination period for this year's Legislative Council election.

Among the 18 nomination papers filed, eight were for the geographical constituencies while 10 for functional constituencies.

The Legislative Council election is slated for Sept 6. Nomination began on Saturday and runs till July 31.
