BEIJING - Chinese health authority said Friday that it received reports of five newly confirmed COVID-19 cases on the Chinese mainland Thursday, of which two were domestically transmitted.
Of the three imported cases, one was reported in Liaoning province, one in Shanghai and another in Yunnan province
The two domestically transmitted cases were reported in Beijing, the National Health Commission said in its daily report.

No new deaths related to the disease were reported Thursday, according to the commission.
Meanwhile, twelve patients were discharged from hospitals after recovery Thursday, while 409 still being treated, including eight in severe conditions, the commission said in its daily report.

Altogether 78,499 patients had been cured and discharged from hospitals by Thursday, according to the report. As of Thursday, a total of 83,542 confirmed COVID-19 cases had been reported on the mainland, among whom 4,634 had died of the disease.
