MADRID - Chinese Super League outfit Wuhan Zall will return to China from their current base in Spain on Saturday March 14, coach Jose Gonzalez explained in Spanish sports paper Diario AS on Thursday.

Wuhan have been stuck in Spain since January 29, unable to return to their hometown because of the quarantine imposed on the epicenter of the coronavirus.

Their situation was reported in the Spanish media, and the club even received a homage from the Spanish Football League less than two weeks ago, with the entire squad invited to the "Clasico" between Real Madrid and FC Barcelona on March 1.

However, while the coronavirus is now largely under control in China, the number of cases in Spain has skyrocketed to 2,800 from 150 ten days ago, and the club considers it is time to return home as it is now safer in China than in Spain.
