WUHAN - The Roland-Garros Tennis Club will open in Wuhan in 2019, the French Consulate General in Wuhan confirmed on Wednesday.
The French Tennis Association will actively assist establishing the club, as well as helping in tournament planning, organization and management.
China Electric Construction Real Estate Group Co. Ltd and the Wuhan Huangpi District Government will complete the contract with the French Tennis Association on Sept 30.
The club is expected to hold a series of tournaments in the 2019-2020 season, in a bid to attract more Chinese teenagers to participate in tennis and enjoy the charm of the clay surface that will be installed at the club.
