HONG KONG – Hong Kong's foreign currency reserve assets increased to US$424.6 billion in December from US$423.2 billion in the previous month, the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA) said on Monday.
Foreign currency reserve assets, including unsettled foreign exchange contracts, at the end of December rose to US$417.4 billion from US$416 billion in November.
The total foreign currency reserve assets of US$424.6 billion represent about seven times the currency in circulation or 46 percent of Hong Kong dollar M3.
