HONG KONG – The police have arrested six people in relation to Sunday’s violent attacks in Yuen Long.
Senior Superintendent Chan Tin-chu of New Territories North Regional Crime Headquarters said the six men, aged between 24 and 54, were arrested for unlawful assembly. Some of them have triad backgrounds, Chan said. He did not rule out more arrests.

Dozens of people were injured as a group of people donning white T-shirts attacked commuters with canes and poles in train compartments and on the platform of Yuen Long MTR station.
Chan reiterated that the police will not tolerate any violent acts in Hong Kong and will bring all attackers to justice.
