HONG KONG – Hong Kong police on Wednesday dismissed online rumors that alleged some officers had disguised as rioters to inflict damage to facilities in Sheung Shui MTR station on Tuesday night.
In a statement posted on its official Facebook account on Wednesday, the police said that plainclothes officers had been deployed to carry out investigation in the station after reports of vandalism were received, adding no police officers had broken the law.
The police will continue to make use of different methods to combat crimes according to operational needs, according to the statement.
