BEIJING - China's passenger vehicle sales stood at 2.05 million units in October, down 0.66 percent from September and a decline of 12.99 percent from the same month last year, industry data showed.
The aggregate sales for the first 10 months contracted by 1.02 percent year on year to 19.3 million units, according to the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers.
During the period, crossover utility vehicles posted the biggest slump of 19.05 percent with a sales volume of 367,400 units, followed by a decline of 14.14 percent in the sales of multi-purpose vehicles.

Some 8.11 million units of sports utility vehicle were sold, up 1.55 percent year on year, while the sale of cars edged down by 0.04 percent to 9.42 million units.
Some 8.09 million units or 41.91 percent of the total passenger vehicles were domestic brands, while German and Japanese vehicles accounted for 21.63 percent and 18.61 percent of the sales, respectively.
