The ongoing session of the 13th National People’s Congress, the country's national legislature, has been through two rounds of elections over the weekend. Earlier on Wednesday, Wang Yang was elected chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, the top political advisory body. 

The newly elected leaders and top officials will serve a five-year term.
