
The Hong Kong Special Administrative Region government will do everything to ensure justice to those who dared to sabotage the city’s attempt to become united after Tai Po fire tragedy, Chief Executive John Lee Ka-chiu said on Tuesday.
He made the remarks while commenting on the arrest of three people on suspicion of incitement during fire relief efforts.

“Some criminals have taken advantage of the tragedy we are facing, as everyone in society is united in helping those who are suffering continue living and moving forward,” Lee told reporters ahead of the Executive Council meeting.
“Anybody who dares to sabotage this attempt, this commitment of society, we will do anything we can to ensure that justice will be done,” he said.
Highlighting that no criminal activity, especially those exploiting the fire tragedy, will be tolerated, he reiterated that law enforcement agencies had an obligation to take action against illegal acts, regardless of their nature or identities of those involved.

“Challenges keep us united and we must rise from sorrow. We need to show the solidarity of Hong Kong and build a better Hong Kong,” the CE added.
